Roles & Responsibilities

As Co-Founder and Managing Director, Abdullah leads Data Pulse’s day-to-day operations and sets its technical direction. He is accountable for secure software delivery across every client engagement — from the architecture of our custom builds through to cloud deployment, CI/CD and ongoing hardening. He owns the company’s security programme (aligned to NIST CSF 2.0 and ISO 27001), the SDLC security standards embedded in every repository, and the senior client relationships where security and compliance are decisive — including PCI DSS–scoped payment platforms.

Description

Abdullah combines a decade of engineering experience with a PhD in Computer Science and senior offensive-security practice. His work spans secure software architecture, cloud and Kubernetes hardening, DevSecOps, penetration testing, incident response and SIEM / detection engineering — the full attack-and-defence lifecycle that modern software products need to survive production. At Data Pulse, he leads the security engineering of every client engagement — most notably the PBT Payment Solutions gateway, where he owned the PCI DSS Level 1 certification workstream, remediated every external and internal vulnerability raised in audit, and hardened the Azure / Kubernetes production environment (per-node memory reduced from 112% to 70%, monthly Azure spend reduced by 44.79%). Alongside Data Pulse, Abdullah lectures in Cybersecurity at MTU Cork on Incident Response, SIEM & Detection Engineering, and Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing. He holds a PhD from the University of Cyprus (EU Horizon 2020-funded research on AI-driven intrusion detection for industrial control systems) and has authored 7 peer-reviewed publications.
